When my oldest was only 7 months old, in daycare and I was a new working mom, I was gifted a finger painting from my baby and I have to tell you, it was (and still is) one of my most treasured gifts.

Every gift that came home from then on over their time in daycare/preschool and now elementary school has proven a unique one-of-a-kind mother’s day treasure (it’s hard to decide which one to display prominently!)

The thought, patience, and creativity that goes into creating these one-of-a-kind pieces that are made by my baby (at the time) lit my momma heart on FIRE! I was so grateful to the daycare teachers and staff for their creativity and their thoughtfulness because let’s face it – kids aren’t coming up with these ideas on their own (especially babies!).

Whether you’re on your own or helping your little one create something special for you, grandma, or a beloved auntie – or if you’re a caregiver or teacher helping the preschoolers or kindergartner’s in your care create something original and unique for their moms, this list has you covered.

What to Give Your Mom on Mother’s Day?

There are a lot of arts and crafts ideas for Mother’s Day. You can make things with your hands, like a card or a picture. You could also make something to eat, like cupcakes or cake. There are also ideas for things that you can wear, like a necklace or bracelet.

While all of these things are certainly nice, I like to practice the old adage it’s the thought that counts – and this couldn’t be more true when it comes to a present that comes from the heart.

Often little kids don’t have a lot of time/money to buy a gift, so creating one that is from them is often a solid choice.
